TRUCK APU Auxillary Power Unit Run Green No Idle Law
Polar Mobility Joins Willis APU Install/Warranty Service Network, Extends Service Through Western Canada

SPARKS, Nev., March 26, 2007 — Auxiliary Power Dynamics LLC, manufacturers of the Willis Auxiliary Power Unit, has authorized Calgary, Alberta-based Polar Mobility Research Ltd. to install and service the Willis APU at its locations in Canada.

Polar Mobility joins a network of independent truck service shops across the United States and Canada where customers can get their Willis APUs professionally installed and serviced. Polar Mobility can service and install the Willis APU at its three locations in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton, Alberta.

“We’re pleased that a company with a well-known reputation in western Canada for service in the construction and trucking industry has joined our network of authorized installers and warranty service providers,” said Samy Karuppana, president and chief executive officer of Auxiliary Power Dynamics. “Over the years, the folks at Polar Mobility have built a solid reputation as knowledgeable professionals who stand by their work. They pride themselves on offering their customers solutions that make their working environments comfortable, safe and productive, like the Willis APU.”

Polar Mobility, which has been in business since 1981, designs, builds and installs heating, air conditioning and air filtration systems for specialized construction, mining and military heavy-duty mobile equipment. The company also installs truck refrigeration units and cooling and heating systems for sleeper cabs in highway trucks.

Glen Lemke, Edmonton branch manager and a co-owner of Polar Mobility, said his company chose to become an authorized Willis APU installer and warranty service provider because the Willis APU offers a great value for customers.

“The Willis APU fits very well with our company’s mission to offer our customers solutions to their heating and cooling needs that will save them money and help save the environment,” Lemke said. “We looked at several different auxiliary power units and chose to offer the Willis APU because it’s easy for drivers to operate and offers them the same cooling and heating capacity they can get with their own trucks when idling the main engine.”

Lemke anticipates that the Willis APU will rapidly gain popularity among customers. “It’s integrated into the truck’s HVAC system for both heating and cooling the cab and sleeper,” he explained. “The installation doesn’t require operators to give up bunk or jockey box space to make room for the duct work or for the unit itself. The Willis APU is a solid unit made of quality parts.

“For operators who want good airflow and want a quieter-operating and aesthetically-pleasing APU, but don’t want to give up their jockey box or have the device installed under their bunks, then the Willis APU offers them a great choice,” he added.

The Willis APU is a professional-grade device that offers cooling and heating capacity that’s among the highest in the industry. It also keeps truck drivers and their companies from being slapped with hefty fines for idling their truck engines since it provides auxiliary power as soon as the truck is parked. Its three-cylinder, 18-hp Kubota engine makes it quiet, powerful and inexpensive to maintain.

An optional, fully-integrated air compressor can offer operators peace of mind and help them avoid costly downtime. Operators can set the Willis APU’s electronic control unit to automatically engage the APU’s air compressor should the truck’s air system, which includes the air brakes and air suspension, lose pressure.
